Bestwood Welfare Black Diamonds

The band would like to welcome the following new players to the band Emily Lawson on front row cornet back after a year in Germany. Rebecca Lakey on back row cornet, Adam Wallis on 2nd Euphonium, and Wayne Curtis who has rejoined the band after a spell at Kirkby Colliery Welfare Band.

The band came 15th at this Butlins contest.

The band this evening completed its 23rd and final band engagement of the year at the Emmanuel Church in Bestwood. The band would like to thank all its players for supporting and doing the jobs during the Christmas period. We would also like to wish or players, family and supporters a Happy Christmas and a peaceful new year.

The band are pleased to announce that local councillor Dennis Beeston has agreed to become the band's new president. Dennis has been a loyal supporter of the band for a number of years and we are delighted that he has accepted this position. The band would like to thank its outgoing president Brian Bancroft for his long service in the role.
