The Band are delighted to announce that they have been successful in their application for a grant from The Awards For All which is a joint grants programme supported by Arts Council England, Big Lottery Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund and Sports England.
The band which has been going for over 65 years which was formerly a Coal Mining band received £9941.00 from Awards For All which the band will use to purchase new instruments and allowing our older instruments to be handed down to our Traning Band . Receiving this grant will help the band achieve that goal.
The band would like to thank the Awards For All programme for awarding the Band this grant which will help with the band’s vital work in the community encouraging more younsters from the local area to join our Training Band. The band will be holding a special ceremonial handing over of the cheque later in May more details will be announced shortly.
